**** it sounds like it

if its got a hydro tanny, dont worry about it. ive put a b16 a1 in a 99 si, and it worked fine, we just changed all the old a2 stuff over(he blew up the stock a2, nitrous+supercharger). so we threw an a1 long block in there and sold it(yes, i know its "technically" illegal, who cares, nobody checks that in the midwest. if its got the a2 stuff on it, its the same basically
its probably a jdm b16a2, if thats the case it wont say b16a2, it will only say b16a.
check the block, there will be engravings on it all around which show the block number, for example like on my b18a, the back of the intake mani has a pr4 on it, and the head has a pr4 on it. and the ecu is a pr4. so i say try search for that.
also u got a hydralic tranny, the 95 civics use hydralics.
what ecu did it come with ?

It's a JDM motor, The JDM motors are stamped different than USDM motors, the first gen and second gen B16A dont have numbers after the A, just Like the USDM Gsr is stamped B18C1 but in japan it's only B18C and if it has a hydaulic slave cylinder it's a 2nd gen B16
just because it has a hydro tranny on it, doesnt mean its a 2nd gen b16, u can put a hydro tranny on a 1st gen, and u wouldnt know the difference.
like i say check around the block and see the markings, it should say p30. what ecu did u get with it ?

Totally correct. It's JDM.

I second that....for JDM have to look at the intake manifold and the wiring harness if available. OBDI have gray square plugs while OBDO are round and off white. Just did a 2nd gen B16A so I know this one
yeah i was the same way when i got mine 2 years ago...just look for p30 stamped on it...it shoudl be everywhere...plus look for the grey plugs on the distributor...also...there is a number on the head that tells the year...
