99 Civic Si has a B16a block? How different from stock B16a2 block?

Icon3 99 Civic Si has a B16a block? How different from stock B16a2 block?

hi.. i was getting ready to buy a 99 civic si.. when i open the hood.. i saw the the model # and it says B16A... 99-00 civic si is B16a2... but why this car has a B16a on the block.. is there any difference if he switch the block but using the same tranny and vtec head.. is this a scam? thanks

If the block is stamped 'B16A' only, it means it's from Japan, as they don't get the extra digit like we do here in north america like B16A2

The good news is that the jdm version probably has less mileage, and it make 10hp more due to higher compression, making 170hp stock
