Default Integra Type R Header choice???????

Got a JDM B18C angine in my EG civic sir2. I am still running the stock header which has about a 58mm final bore. Had a look at the supersprint header but its only 48mm bore. I am presuming this would reduce my power somewhat. Other mods on the car include Full Mongoose system and and a DC sports induction kit with a quickshift racing stainless filter. I am currently putting out 206.5bhp @ flywheel and 143lbf-torque.

Any ideas on what make to go for and if its worth while?????

wow, haven't heard of mongoose, but supersprint is not a bad company. Personally on a car putting down that kinda power i would look into a hytech/toda/mugen/spoon/ or smsp.

I assume you have the stock JDM 4-1 header because you have a JDM ITR engine. Keep it.
What you could do is port the inlets a bit...

Make sure the rest of the exhaust is 60 mm bore all the way....

Whatever you buy, don't buy a header with a small collector like the supersprint. If you want something better, get an JDM header (aftermarket) like DC JDM, Mugen, Spoon, Toda, etc...

I`d prefer Toda because of price, quality, clearance and gains... fine header. The nest best thing seems to be SMS..

SMS might start a group buy for their itr headers. Full exhaust system during the group buy is only $700 maybe the header will be less than $900?? You should jump on that when it happens.

I may do this as a production run of 10, not to be confused with a group buy, these would be all stainless steel including the the manifold and collector flanges.

May actually not be too long if I get some interest since I have a bunch of the ITR specific headers to build right now.

When you say itr specific header, do you mean the modified ITR header? I think i remember you showing a prototype on here before, i can't remember. Or do you mean you took the jdm 4-1 header and used its dimensions so it will bolt up to aftermarket cat-backs with no problem? If you were to get this production run going, how long would the wait be for the header? Oh yeah, i pmed you.

It's the current header I build for the B18C5. It's configured to clear the ITR aluminum tranny/block support bracket. I build them now out of mild steel and have them ceramic coated. These would be 100% stainless steel.

The wait should be a little quicker than my normal wait periods.

If the header came in that production run for under 900, I would be in for sure. Please let us know Dave as per any updates regarding this buy.

He might just have the basic jdm b18c gsr swap. That's what I have.

Cheers for the replies guys. much appreciated

I believe it is the JDM header that is on it just now as it has a 58mm bore. Have heard it may be worth while porting it before. Might just do this anyways. It is defently the JDM type r engine.

I am in the UK (scotland) but would be very interested in one of these headers. You all seem to be pretty keen on them. Could i get one shipped over here please.???

Cheers again guys

Just choose what works best for your given budget, your current state of tune, and where you're planning on ending up with the engine.

Austin - who still chooses HyTech
