Default type r head on a gsr block

Im planning to put an itr head on a gsr block. is there any pros and cons that anyone can help me with? is it a good swap or a bad swap? what site can I find the swap on ?

If you put ITR pistons, then you would have a b18c5. No problems with what you want to do.

Personally, I would save the money and get your gsr head fully built from portflow. Port and polish, 3 angle valve job, full vavle train. And that would yeild more power then a type r head.

And it will be much more expensive that a ITR head.

i would personally get ITR internals and just port the head on the gsr. throw in a CTR intake cam and a ITR exhaust cam

You will lose a little bit of compression with the type r head on your gsr block. If right now you have gsr pistons in your block, then you will have below 10.0:01 compression. The type r head may flow slightly better than the gsr head, but its nothing to go crazy over.

I think a fully port/polished gsr head would be alot better than a stock type r head.

With ITR head on your GSR block (with GSR pistons) your compression ratio will go down!

yeah, you will probably lose a little power at the low rpm end.
