timing service connector?
When you are doing the timing, where is the timing service connector located that you are suppose to jump?? Is this really necessary, how does it affect the timing without "jumping" it?
if its a 88-89 its in the under hood wiring harness on the drivers side. It sticks out has a blue plug with a brown and green wires (i think those are the wire colors) If its a 90-91 its on the passenger side kick panel same plug etc.... If you dont jump the wire it wont hold timing to set it. It will fluctuate
Can you describe more of what this does, I have read about it, but whats it for exactly? I have never used it and have had the motors timed good...
Which of the three marks on the crank pulley do you guys aim towards? I know the middle one is the factory setting, but on a stock b16, do u guys advance/retard it a bit?
There are 4 marks. One is TDC and the other 3 are your ignition timing marks. They are easy to distinguish because the TDC mark is all by itself on the pulley and the 3 timing marks are next to each other. Remember that to advance your ign. timing you want to turn the dist towards the firewall and vice versa for retarding it. hth

I always thought it was the other way around. Towards the front of the car is advance. Are you sure you're right?
