Default SMC+, 450 Injectors, no boost...rich??

I am slowly in the process of building me a home made turbo, anyways it should be done within 1-2 month and I am starting to put the pieces together, most of it's here, just finding the time to do it

anyways I am just wondering for the time being so I can start getting things out of the way if I can throw my 450's and a SMC and tune it to -50, will I be stinking rich?? keep in mind I wont see boost until the turbo's on, just gonna stay in my N/A state

or would it just be better if I wait?

Thanks

I tried doing this with stock injectors and kept the correction at 0. In theory it should work if you put it at -46% for 450s. I belive that was the calculation we came up with. My car wouldn't have it though. It threw a map cel and wouldn't idle for **** and would die after a couple seconds of running.

Hi Richard, we received your SMC+ today. The reason you had trouble with the SMC+ is because you must of accidently set the MAP clamping voltage to zero volts. This caused the SMC to not output any voltage causing your problems. A quick read through the manual would have solved your problems. We can send your SMC back to you with the MAP voltage clamp adjust disabled if you wish.

LebCRX, any SMC model is compatible with any Honda from 87 and up models when programmed according to the installation manual.

Thanks for everyone's reply

I think my question was misunderstood, I understand that ideally at 46% I would idle fine with 450's...what I was asking is that in this non-ideal world is that what is gonna happen...basically my friend at -50 is STILL runnin pig rich, but he has a AFC, but he kind of got me wondering...I guess the only way to really find out is to go ahead and try it

Thanks,

No, you can leave the the voltage clamp on. I will make sure to check it this time. Wish I had thought to check that before I sent it off to you . I figured that because the manual said it came with a factory preset of 3.05 I wouldn't have to mess with that. Oh well, you live and learn.

to answer the question, yes you can run the SMC and 450's on an NA setup. use the 46 as a guideline though, and tune it a little bit with a wideband (only if you have one - dont waste dyno time if its temporary anyways). i've ran this setup for months now and i havent had any troubles. just make sure to follow the instructions, as it seems a lot of people arent doing that too well.

I just hooked mine up, I set all the setting to 0 before putting the negative cable back on. Well I started it up and it idle fine, but just about 70 rpm lower than normal. I dont know if it is running rich or not, but i did take it for a test drive, and it drove woundful, I dont know if my factory injectors were bad or what, but my car has way more power now, which is making me happy. Just cant wait till I get the rest of my turbo parts.
