actually now that i look at the parts list on Defi-Shop it is 1/8pt not NPT... what kind of material should this be made of to withstand the heat?

Stainless.
I just picked one up for my Apex EGT from Viren....kinda wrong size, but I got it to work. Depends if your probe flares out ot 1/4" at the wire side, then it should work easily--mine didnt.
