auto to manual conversion help

Default auto to manual conversion help

ive got a '91 civic hatch dx auto, want to make it 5 speed.I know i need a 5 speed tranny, shift linkage,clutch pedal assembly,clutch cable,a 5 speed pas. side bracket needs to be welded in place of the auto,clutch,flywheel,5 spd. flywheel bolts, 5 speed tranny mounts.I need to know what else, can i use the same ecu, and will i have to do any wiring? thanx

ECU's are different..you will need a new one

OK first you dont have to weld any mounts into different places just get the manual mounts and they will bolt right in and line up with the tranny. You will need a manual ECU. As for wiring your going to have to run the wires from the auto shifter out to the tranny for the reverse lights and your going to have to wires the park wires together so your car thinks its in park and will start or you can take those wires and run them to the nuetral safety switch and have it that was as well. That should be pretty much it with wiring I believe?? I am doing the same thing but I am also putting the Si motor into my car so I just swapped out all of the harnesses so I didnt have to mess with rewring at all.
