I useally shift at 3k, but trying 2.5k would probley save a bit more gas.

if u wanna know how to save some gas.... shift around 3500-4000... that way the engine rpms dont drop too low and u dont combust t oo muhc fuel to get the car going....

well shoudl he shift when he starts to feel the power level out..
then u know that ur engine isnt going to increase anymore power..

well if hes got cams its probly tuned for a little more top end rpm..what would be nice is if you could find a dyno then you could see when the power starts falling off.

i have no rev limiter thats what concerns me. i reved to 10k once on acccedent my car sounded pissed.8600rpm is ok for stock valves/springs/etc.?

ouch

i'd get stiffer valve springs asap if you're running anything bigger than a stage 1 cam

but on a mostly stock valvetrain, i wouldnt go past 8500 or so unless its an ARR

no. Stock springs and valve train I wouldnt go higer then 8200RPM. Why do yo think they have redlines, for a damn good reason. You dont want valve float which you probley already have....

I agree with Bryant, I would not go a hair over 8200. I'd shoot for 8000 personally.

my thoughts exactly..

You would be amazed how much stiffer ITR springs and Portflow inners are compared to stock b16.

if you knew.. you probably wouldn't rev to 8 with those cams
