Dumb Question...
Understeer involves front end traction, or rather, lack of or process of losing it. Called "push" sometimes. The car seems to not steer and much as you want, due to extreme front tire slip angles (steering input relative to car's response. Type Rs mainly understeer but in upper limits the rear will slide out slowly (light oversteer).
Oversteer involves rear end traction, or rather, lack of or process of losing it. Called "loose" sometimes. The rear end is rotating much more than you intended with the steering. Older Porsches, Vipers, Z06s put massive power to the rear and when not controlled expertly and delicately during cornering, break loose the rear for obvious reasons.
