breakin in the 2.0
I just got my car back today 2.0 b18c1 resleeved by darton. I got a quaiffe put in as well. The guy at the shop seated the rings and did an oil change already. I drove my car home today and it makes a very quiet whinning sound when I push on the gas. it also sounds a little rough, like I think its the pistons but I let it warm up and every thing for 15 min before driving it, but they seem to still make some noise. Is this all normal and Im just worrying for nothing, or is there something I need to do. THANKS

You shouldn't let your car warm up for so long. It can result in blow-by after awhile. Not suer why your engine is making the noise though. I'd take it to a mechanic and have them check it, you may just need to finish breaking it in.

Are you referring to his motor b/c it's not broken in or all motors in general, no matter if they are broken in or not?

If you get it resleeved by Darton it's $799 sleeved and shipped.
Really, I'd try to find some sort of local machine shop that can do the work for you. Most places will do it for $200-350
What kind of pistons, rods, crank are you running?
I'm about to resleeve my GSR block to 84mm. I'm going to run some JE 11.8 : 1 pistons. Not quite sure yet, though. I'm really trying to find some Wiesco pistons.
How do you like it? Once you break it in, you gotta get some baseline dyno's ran. And how does the bottomend torque feel like? I'm just curious if it increased a lot.

I havent had my car for about 2 months so everyhting feels allot diff. I also had a slighlty lighter flywheel. Im running 84.5 mm endyn pistons 9.1:1 with eagle rods on a gs-r crank. I can feel the power start to pull around 4000, but i havent gone over 5000 yet so I dont really know how its gonna pull. I plan on hittin 500 miles by the weekend and I will take it to autowave and get a dyno run and fix my hondata a little bit. I will post up the dyno probably monday or tuesday.
