Default Accelerating while turning causes ticking/knocking noises

Whenever I gas while turning (left or right) I get a strange noise coming from the front right of my car... its been getting steadily louder as the days go by : \ If I'm driving and turn without gasing there are no noises. I'm getting kinda worried, anyone got any ideas? CV going bad?

I'm experiencing the same problem with my 90 accord. Can you explain the "cvjoint" thing to those of us who are less educated?

cv joint/axle is going bad...might be another day, maybe another year....mine went out on a dam in rush hour, so getting it fixed as soon as you can is a good idea.....but the joint is wearing out either due to just getting old, or taking corners hard a lot, hard launches with wheel hop, busted boot and slung out all the grease and got some dirt in there, or whatever else similar....usually easy to replace with a little experience....whichever side is clicking/popping is the side that's bad...could be one, or both.....

the CV joint is the part of the axle that alows you to turn your wheels left and right, while making the power go from the trans to the wheels.

pics:
CV joint itself. this one is from a hummer(the vehicle, not the thing you get from a girl ).

this what the complete setup looks like this.

as you can see in the above picture there are rubber boots covering it. they crack, tear, and generally get old. when those go, dirt goes into all those bearings and metal surfaces...causing the joint to wear down and be loose.

another killer is hard driving. flooring it out of corners, wheel hop etc.....

Just replaced my boots. The outers went bad so i went ahead and replaced the inners too. Luckly, i caught it in time. No dirt seemed to get in the joints.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think there's any way that I'll be able to do this repair myself. I don't know anything about cars and neither do any of my friends. So like, BALLPARK, how much should it cost if I go to a dealer?

About 200+ or so per axle that includes the boots on it. If you go to a pepboys or local shop 150-175 or so for both sides with the core exchange. The boots can be about 75- or so depends on area and etc.. thats NJ prices for you.

Thanks people. Got it fixed today. $300 for both sides. But at least there's no more noise!
