Default ? on dust shields

is it safe to remove them? i need to do this for my ducting but how do i take them off? any advantages or disadvantages? thanks

Wire snips (or whatever they're called) work. You can remove them, but you'll increase the chance of lodging a rock b/w the caliper and backside of the rotor, but many people have done it.

I need to do it too, b/c when my car was impounded after bein stolen, they dropped on its belly w/ no wheels and bent the ufck outta them....someone said that if i took them off, the first time it rained and i got the rotors hot, the water would warp them.

just take them off and forget about it.

i used a 90 degree screwdriver to get 'em off.

yea sling **** up ony crank pulley and get water and dirt and **** all up in there..
