What should I do? build zc, d16y8, or get a b16a
I think I just screwed up my zc motor in my crx. So if I have to rebuild the zc motor I will just take my time and build the whole thing for turbo. I have the GReddy turbo kit for a 92-95 civic ex/si. Should I rebuild my ZC or my D16Y8. I blew the D16Y8 a few years ago it also needs resleeved and rebuilt. Or should I get out of the D-series sell the turbo kit and get a B-series motor.
Depends on what you want to do with the car.
Daily driver?
Drag racing?
Auto-x?
Are you more concerned with reliabiliy or performance?

I want it as a daily driver pushing about 8-10psi,
but if I cant find parts for the ZC like cams, retainers, pistons ect...

It depends on your:
- Brains
- Decent Income
- your dependancy on the car.
If you don't have the first 2, I would not build either motor. If you need to have the car drivable every day, I would also not build either motor.
If you do have all 3, I would suggest building up the motor that is in it's best condition. Both will make very good power when built, and if your not shooting for the moon with hp #'s, either will do fine.

Hmmmm I just saw this with his CRX pics..
"I have it boosted to about .7 Bar which I think its about 8-9 psi. It pulls real hard at low rpms I will get it dynoed after I get new spark plugs, bigger fuel pump, and some check valves. I got to about 140mph until the CEL came on for the MAP sensor so I slowed back down"
No wonder why you blew the motor, did you have any fuel management? Bigger injectors etc?

haha I have two cars the civic is pretty dependable I just want to build a decent powerful motor that will last. I did have the crx timing retarded and used the blue box fmu. I didnt rag on the rex cause I didnt have it tuned and I'm waiting on the IC, but I did get on it a little when I first put the turbo in. A few weeks later I blew the head gasket. I changed it now I get oil in all four cylinders either I messed up the rings or I didnt have the gasket lined up correctly. I have the D16Y8 that I took out of the civic. It starts but knocks really loud. I make good money and have the brains just too impaitant. I adjusted waste gate before I put in the turbo, the fans are in the way I have to pull the them out to adjust the waste gate so I left it at .7 bar at max. Normally the boost does not get higher than .5 bar.
If I put the Y8 in I would have to do extra wiring, so I was planning on building the ZC but it's hard to find parts for it.
