Default ZC vs D16Y8 Head flow charts (Thanks to Earl)...

I just thought I would start another thread with both graphs to compare. I know some people have been interested in seeing this...

To bad we don't have a Z6 graph to show as well.

Both Heads have been ported by Earl's shop.

(The graphs do have different #'ed axis' so be careful)
D16Y8:

ZC:

The D16Y8 definetly improved more than the ZC head in intake flow, but the ZC improved more in Exahust flow.

I doubt it. From what I can tell, the ZC is better from the overall higher exhaust flow.

Very interesting charts. The y8 does flow much better on the intake, but the exhaust of both the zc and y8 are pretty close. From what i have seen being around, and porting the z6/y8 heads the exhaust ports are identical. I would like to see what the zc exhaust ports are shaped like to create a much better flow. I am fairly certain that you could model the exhaust porting off of the zc head on the exhaust port to get the y8 even closer to the flow of the zc. Remember that there is more to the equation than just the head porting for overall flow.

No. Head Bolt pattern is different.

i believe if porting the y8's exhaust side into similar characteristic as the zc's, the y8 would yield equal or more power.
