Need recommendation for quality rear speakers
Ok, it's time to cover up my noisy car with some pleasant sound.
Car: 1998 Integra Type-R
I already chose most of my components.
I will go with a 6 1/2 Infinity Kappa Perfect Component with a Sony Xplod Amp...this will be coupled with the newest Pioneer or Pansonic MP3 receiver. If not enough, I will also hook up a 10" Basooka tube in the hatch. I may consider a light-weight set of "sound insolation pads" <forgot what they call, it's 3am
>
I can't go all out on on the car with custom box or whatever. My car routinely sees autocross and road course, so I think my setup is the limit on weight.
All I need to complete the system is a good set of 6.5 speaker for the rear. Please tell me a good set for under $100 on Ebay.

For the rears I would leave the stockers. If you insist on using rear speakers, the infinity reference are nice.
You can do a custom box with a 10. Sub boxes are easily removed. I don't like the bazooka personally.
If you want to limit weight, get a 5 channel amp. That way the only weight you are left with is the amp, for autocross after the sub is removed. Don't worry about sound deadening, just add more power

yeah...my gf's GS is running Infinity Reference, they sound pretty nice with stock amp and aftermarket headunit. Will it be that great after a powered amp?
EDIT: I just looked around for Ininifty speakers. And their model of Kappa 63.5I caught my interest, I suppose they should be a lot better than the Reference?
This is a 3-way speaker, what's the big deal compare to 2-ways?
I got a deal on the Xplod....4 channel for only $50 (the guy owes me $100)
So if I might go with a pre-amp bazooka, which I can tie it down somewhere in my gutted hatch. Bass is not a major concern which I hope the Inifinity can provide me enough with.

I would omit the rear speakers completly. Bridge the channels on the amp to give the components more power and see if you like the way it sounds.
If you don't, then continue using the stock rear speakers as Vteg suggested.

It's weird if there are no output from the rear, because it won't sound dimensional. Especially in my car that has the how hatch gutted. I tried it before, although not with a high amped speakers, but only front sounds weird. I'll give it a shot though.

It sounds wierd if you don't have a sub, and sufficient power to the fronts. Once you get around 75 watts rms to the fronts it will sound good

I wouldnt take the rears out...you will miss the rear fill.....JL Audio, Eclipse, and Nakamachi make great speakers....Both Eclipse and Nakamachi have a 3 year warranty if installed by a certified installer and the JL's have a 2 year.....

I won't buy anything that has the warranty tied to an authorized dealer. It's just a marketing scheme to get you to buy their products from a dealer. While I would sometimes say this may be a good thing I just don't think that warranties should be tied to it. Many "professional" installs I have seen would pass for amateur in my book
I agree...some professional installs look like that...but not at my shop...there is still a warranty, its just not as long...
