Spend the extra money and get something proven, with a reputable company to back it up in case of customer service issues.

$269 is cheap, but you get what you pay for generally. All I can tell from that hood is it has cut edges instead of rolled, and they dont show pictures of the underside at all, which could mean a number of things.

Save the hassle, get a proven quality hood.

a good hood shouldn't need hood pins. its like selling tires with repair kits

That is not true. The lighter the hood is the more likely it will need hood pins.

The hood in the auction looks very cheap and for that price you can almost get something better like a VIS.

Shipping is 130
130+269=400
For 400 you can get something more reliable from a reputable company.

Listen to what these guys are saying. I've heard too many stories of cheap carbon fiber hoods flying off even with stock mounting latches...hoods that crack on impact. Your best bet is to go with a VIS hood or similar.

Invest wisely my friend.

no not true at all. you can get a vacum molded hood that weighs 3 lbs. and stronger than the hand laid style. but if the hood latch isnt secured properly to the hood it may fly off. weight has nothing to do with wether hood pins are requierd.

according to your theory, a stock hood with a loose hood latch wouldnt need hood pins. ......

watch out for those carbon fiber hood, my buddy had it on his civic and the latch came apart. The hood flew back and hit his winsheild, cracked the whole glass and dented the roof top. He was going bout 70 on the interstate and flew back, luckly it didnt hit no car behind him.
