Hey, i got a CRX HF 91. Currently the battery is placed in the front left, and the problem is, my short ram intake is kinda resting near it or on it. At first, i didnt think this was a prob, but now, the other day i looked and there is all this white powder on my short ram intake!! I was wondering, how/where can i move the battery elsewhere in the engine bay where it would be in a good location, out of the way of CAI and Short Ram Intakes? Please, any info would be awsome. pics would be too! Thank you.
man i am telling u know ture battery or move to back of car..
i had fire under my hood one day on the way to work..
one day i was on my way to work and i passt a couple of cars and then bam
car stalled so i pulled over and the next thing i see is smoke from the front of engine bay
so i tryed to open my hood and i couldnt because i needed some to push down on it at same time... but some one came along from work and stoped and helped me..thank god
well the + side of batter hit me - intake and shorted out and started on fire...
not cool
turn battery man i did

^^ Goddamn! Translation please!
I got some of that. So how did you go about moving it to the back of the car? Is there anywhere in the front of the car i can move it to? Let me know. Thanks.

Instead of the relocation go to autozone, get a red and black battery rubber cover, and put it on the metal, tape it with electric tape if need be.. Either way it will prevent that from happening because it will lay between the battery and the intake...

Could you tell me "what did happen"? What is the white corrosion on my short ram? Can i get it off? Also, i would kind of like to get the battery out of that location anyways, it seems to get in the way of alot of things? Would turning it 90 degrees help?
Also its not so much the cables or connections touching the Short Ram, its the edge of the battery, thats why im wondering where the hell this corrosion came from'?

just move your battery to the trunk. i did and havent had a problem yet. mine used to arc around whatever i put between the terminal and intake.plus frees up more room for a swap. it just cleans up your eng bay!
sry i meant turn battery 90 deg.
yeah i have b16a in my CRX and i have in the back right now but i think im having a voltage prob now when cranking over. so im putting it back in front and with me DC headers it gives off more heat and battery will stop most of it when in front.

here's where i put mine. It wouldn't work if you had the traditional cold air intake but with shortram it works great and the weight is still over the wheels.
With the swap I have chosen, I have no choice but to relocate to the hatch, where can I find a good one, in black, and if someone with the talent to do so..please post a pic of how one is done correctly, you guys, ROCK!!!
imo the back is the best place to go in order to distribute weight more evenly to all the wheels, but more importantly from front to back. As far as your intake, yeah the stuff will come off but I suggest pouring some coke or other soft drink on it to neutralize the battery acid first before you wash it off.

uh... no, soda is carbonic acid, us a solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water. This will evolve carbonmonoxide gas as the sulfuric acid is netralized. the other way just adding fuel to the fire. Also never just pour add slowly because alot of acid and some water (less parts than acid) = heat, a lot.
