Check your oil. If it keeps getting lower and lower than you are burning oil.

Black smoke coming out your exhaust means your running rich which is natural on a type r.

Puffing black smoke = incomplete combustion

Probably 1) too rich 2) not enough air (check air filter) 3) poor ignition (check plugs)

type R's burn oil? hmm. so if a black type R was burning oil (if they existed) would the back bumper become black? how much oil must you burn to make the bumper on a yellow black? could you make a yellow, black if you burned enough oil? so maybe all the black type R's (which dont exist) are actually yellow R's that just burned alot of oil. sounds like a great senior thesis to me...

p.s.... puffing black smoke is generally a sign of a big fatty being lit up...

Good to know a it's natural to have a lil colour comming out and that it's running rich, as I was on my way to get my system put in my car my mom followed me in her car and mentioned my ITR had a lil grey smoke here and there out of the exhaust, but it sounds like it's natural from this thread. I checked my oil and it was fine, haven't checked it since that day though.
