if you know like i know bro. GEt a prelude engine like me but make sure the person who's doin the install is certified and has good credibility. you can go to hmotors online and talk to steve hes a cool guy. i got mine for 2550 shipped to the crib. try to get a 92-96 honda prelude v-tec engine its a big difference especially when you go into v-tec around 5000 rpm. youlll be rev-happy that same night

Just get the f22's non vtec one like the one you have.
he need durability not performance so H serie(prelude) engine is out of the
picture.
f series single cam is cheap as hell..

well considering they are Japanese cars.........J/k!

the F series is the single over head cam engine used in the accord
the H series is a dual over head cam used in the Prelude

the H series is a torque monster built for a sporty ride
the F series is a more economical engine built for running to the grocery store (although some of us crazier types use it for other things)

I would go with the F series because it is a basic install, drop and go because 95% of the parts will match if not all. the F series will also last a lot longer if taken care of properly.

most likely you are going to find them used, but since not to many people buy them a low mileage one is a good possibilty

as far as a seller I can't really help you, there are several goo d sources on this board for such info though like the classifieds or the members here

guys where should he go?

You might want to give hmotorsonline.com a call to see if they have some in stock ( i know they don't have any on the website ) or you could ask in the " hybrid " section and ask them where they get they're engines from.

Dude, you can find an F series engine for 100 bucks. But if you want one with not a lot of miles, you probably won't find one.

either engine will be reliable if you take care of them. most of them go well into the 200K range before they crap out I have seen some dudes in here with 400=K on their cars

if you go for the Performance H serie you going to have to prepare 3k for the whole swap, yes, it's freakin' expensive, but if that' what you want..
your car's year doesnt matter..people swap in h22 in 4th,5th,6th gen accord like eating donut

Can you install the top half of the H-series onto a F-series making it a dual over head cam vtec engine? Or would it be easier to just swap out the engine entirely?

NO NO NO! This has been covered many times. H and F don't mix. The transmission is interchangable, but like iam7head said, the F series transmission on the H22 will kill some of the power, and also more than likely get owned after a while.
