Default My friend has a problem help asap

he blew his motor in his 1990 accord. i told him he should get a prelude engine the dohc vtec engine. he can't get one for a good price. but this guy he knows real well will give him a prelude 2.0 si engine for $500 including transmission and ecu. should he do that or get back an accord 2.2 liter engine. which is better performnce wise 2.0liter prelude si engine or 2.2 liter accord engine

Would he get the B21A(2.1) engine, or the B20A5 (2.0) engine? The B21A engine has stock 140, whereas the 2.2 (H22A) has 190, which realisticly is lower based on horsepower to flywheel. The H22A has great performance, one super engine that honda made. Many mods can be done to it, whereas, the 2.1 liter engine has few, good still good amount of mods. Also, the 2.1 and 2.0 engines don't have vtec, which, sucks.

$500 is a pretty good price, to produce the power the engine can perform, it would be wise to upgrae ECU and tranny, so that goes for both sides. Pretty breaks down to, does you friend want to save money, or have a super engine...

he should get a stock engine....a 1990 honda accord isn't exactly the best platform for performance.

hey 95vtec - if your friend is looking to put a motor back into his 90 accord, i just did an engine swap from my 90 accord ex - i put the prelude engine in it (the 2.1 non vtec, since it was lying around). the tranny is no good, but the motor is perfect. email me if you are interested, and close enough to my area to get the motor. i will sell it pretty cheap. crxplus@hotmail.com.
