Default APEXi power intake. anyone have it with pictures?

is this thing worth it? not looking for huge gains here. I am in the market for an intake system since I want to go JRSC for the future so the stock intake will be the first to go. my options are, AEM short ram, cheap ebay knock off intake, or a APEXi power intake (aka, the apexi filter with an adapter).

let me know your opinions on this "intake" and let me know if its my best choice. opinions of course

I have the intake on my car. First off, it sounds real nice, you hear a slight whistle if you give it enough throttle while cruising. The brackets are a little hard to figure out at first, but once you mount it up, it fit into the engine bay perfect. For HP gains, I really couldn't tell you, I went from a DIY icebox w/ K&N filter, w/ stock exhaust to the Apex Power Intake and Apex exhaust, so I couldnt judge the two head to head.

*And you never have to clean it

did u happen to have any pics?

this intake attracts me the most cause it will still pass smog (only air filter, no piping) and it wont cause a HUGE noise increase at WOT i assume. i wanna keep my car a sleep in every way. no shiny intakes for me.

but if i had to get a shiny intake, im leaning towards an AEM short ram. but i rather not cause the heat will make the short ram hot and probably have me lose power. im always a huge fan of using the stock intake with a really nice filter.

i think ill go with the apexi unless someone tells me other wise.

Are you talking about a drop in filter for the stock airbox or a CAI system?

I have one on my ls motor it looks good in there, and has a nice deep tone from it but I didn't notice any change in power.
