Default Apexi SOHC Turbo Kit on a B18C

Hey guys. Currently I have an SOHC apexi turbo kit and wanna get a b18c. I really dont want to go through the trouble of selling the kit and buying a new one and was hoping I could find some way to get the manifold to fit onto the b18c. I was curious to know if this was possible at all and if so what kind of hassle am I looking at? Thanks for any help guys.

just buy the hks manifold, and sell the apexi manifold.

Don't forget to upgrade the turbo. If the turbo came with a SOHC kit then chances are it will run out of juice before you hit 8000.

Not true with the A'PEXi kit. It comes with a very good turbo for <2L motors. Infact its the same turbo they use in the kit for the Skyline, but the Skyline gets 2. It maybe alittle smaller then the Greddy 18G, but should be spooling and flowing very well on a B18C.

That is a false statement. The turbo on the B series kit that Apexi is about to release is the same as the SOHC unit. There is no difference in it at all. At first Apexi was going to modify the wheels on the turbo, but in the end they discovered they didn't need to. The only difference in the two kits are the exhaust manifold and the piping between models. A lot of people on here miscompare the Greddy and Apexi kits for the SOHC engines. The Apexi turbo is a far superiour unit then the Greddy one is. Not knocking Greddy or anything, but you can put the Apexi turbo on a B series and it won't blink.

Either call Apexi and get the B series kit or just get one that fits the turbo and your engine as stated above.

Would the hks mani bolt up to th b18c and the turbo w/o and mods? Also would you guys happen to know if the downpipe should fit on as well?

The hks manifold is for b series engines, and has a t25 flange. If the turbo is in the same spot the downpipe should work, as long as the gsr is going in the same car. You might need to modify the downpipe, but thats something a muffler shop can do.

I know what the HKS and geddy manifolds will not bolt up to that IHI P13 turbo with the Apexi kit. The flange is really different and you would have to make a custom flange to a manifold.

**for the dude that said the turbo will run out of it's efficency range at 8k... wrong! That turbo reacts very very well to 1.8-2.0 motors. It is ball-bearing and will spool up very quick, but at the same time your top end will not have to be scraficed for that smaller turbo.

How would we go around getting one made? any ideas as to who..where..how difficult..and how much? Also are there any pictures of what the flange looks like?

just swap the manifolds out bc the single cam will not fit the dual cam and if you want to upgrade the turbo.....

What?? We already know we need to swap the manifold dude..what we need to find out it is what kind of flange the apexi turbo uses..so that we can get one fabricated.....and what are you talking about when you said "if you want to upgrade the turbo"

I can make something, if you get me the correct flange...simply trace the inlet really well, and send it to me...

what do you guys mean its different? its a t25 flange for the IHI turbo that comes in the apexi kit. The greddy turbo for the b series, is also a t25, and the hks manifold....also t25

Looks like a Standard Garrett T25 flange to me...
Also, the only problem you may run into with swapping manifolds, that I have heard of, is that the turbos flange is threaded and the HKS manifold is threaded...just dremel out the turbo holes. GL!

wish it was that simple bro. I've spoken to glagola1 and he has the kit on his B18b
it will work out just fine if you port some material out and just bolt it on to they Bseires head. It's sorta hard to explain because the turbo flang hold the studs and the greddy manifolds holds the studs.... cuting it off and drilling new holes will not work because the flange does not even match up and it would be completely off set.

Just get a spoon manifold.

then you could get a license plate that says "SPOON FED"

I think that would be perfect for you.
