What exactly can lead to this blowing? I have resistors on my dsm 450's i had to relocated my o2 sensor so i had to cut the wires and soder new oens (longer) ones to it.. I'm going to go through all my wires to my ecu tonight and recheck them all and make sure no shorts anywher.e. just wondering if a short ANYWHERE or just a short in a couple particular places would blow this fuse.

i had the same exact problem back then... i garentee u , u have a short in the o2 sensor wire. 100 percent sure.

Alright, checked the o2 sensor its fine, even ran with the first o2 sensor unpluged.. still blew.. tried unplugging the vss sensor.. that blew right away..

NOTE: it only blows the fuse when i go FORWARD

 

come on i don't wanna have to take this thing to a shop

The exact same thing hppened to me and I ended up replacing the 7.5v Alternator sensor fuse with a 10v fuse and it hasn't blown since... Mine blew twice before this for no reason just out of the blue... My speedo, my odometer, my fuel gauge, etc just quit working, and the the next morning the ABS light came on along with my SRS light... It was a fuggin mess...

 

i've even tried a 20v fuse BOOm blown

 

check all your o2 sensor wire and make sure its not grounding onto the car.....

 

i unpluged the o2 sensor.. same problem.. unless its at the harness harness meaning the connector that goes to the sensor.. not to the ecu

Exact same thing happen to me, 02 WIRES WERE CROSSED, that heater wire is gonna blow your fuse. Make sure you the wires going into the o2 sensor correctly matched up.

 

they are, i just talked with him. He did one wire a time while lengthening....

 

Recheck o2 wires, happened to me. You have a short in the o2 harness somewhere

Unplug the o2 sensor where you where dicking around. I bet it doesnt blow the fuse anymore. You will throw a CEL. But then you know for sure its that particular o2 wire harness at fault

did it blow the fuse??? No CEL?? you have hondata or OBD 1 or OBD 0????? It should throw an O2 sensor fault.

 

im having the same problem. Should i check primary or secondary 02? my speedo doesnt work and alt. fuse keeps blowing.

man im having the same problems too ...my rpm meter and speedometer drop to 0, my abs light comes on, and my alternator isnt charging my battery so my car keeps dying. I also had to extend my 02 sensor wires cause i did a swap and i probably do i have a short on one of the wires. Only one problem..i dont have the under dash fuse diagram to tell if the alternator fuse is blown and there looks like some fuses are missing? If anyone has a fuse diagram fer a 95 civic ex please send it to me i really need it...thank you

 

Lol, this happens to a lot of us... wiring mistakes

Check your O2 sensor wires first, then there's a 10 amp fuse under your dash that will be blown.

Fix those two and you're good to go.

 

1. don't ever put in a bigger fuse than called for just because it's blowing, thats a good start for a fire.
2. Did this only start happening after you did all this work? What engine do you have? What car?

 

trac226: 1 problem...i tink the idiot that had the car b4 me jus put fuses in there jus to have them in there cause theres alot of 20 and 30amp fuses and some missing...thats y i need the diagram

jared: my car werked fer like a week after the swap and then i tried to extend my o2 wiring and i still got a cel fer the o2 so i assumed i needed a new o2 sensor and i left it plugged in...then the problems happend 2 days after that. I have a 95 civic ex with a b18b swap
