Default b18c block with b16a2 head....any good?

stock b18c block with a b16a2 head and possibly a b16a2 tranny, will that be an okay set up to put into an eg hatch?

would it run good with the b16 head and tranny?

or should i just find a full gsr swap?

Yes

Yes

Depends on do you want low end torque of b18a block with advantage
of vtec power or do you want a no frills swap-then go gsr.

so the gsr motor with a b16 head is better than a gsr motor with a gsr head?

the b16 heade will lower the compression due to its larger combustion area. the gr head has tha smallest therefor will give yu th best compression.(stock 10:1)

its a great motor for the hatch. i have an integra gsr and with Jdm headers, intake and catback, the thing goes! now throw in cams, higher compression, Intake manifold, etc, youll be screwin with that motor in a eg hatch!
my opinion on nos, dont even bother. not worth ****

so it will still be good even though it has a b16 head with the b16 intake mani on it instead of the gsr head and gsr intake mani?

thats the only thing i'm really wondering about. running this in my hatch should put me in the 14's correct?

make sure you have some better pistons in it because your compression will be at like 9.8 to 1. im gonna run this same set up and im gonna use some b16 pr3 pistons which should bump it up to the 11.4 to 1 region i think...and yea the b16 head should work fine. its pretty much like a type r set up except for the internals. but get rid of the stock intake mani and get a skunk 2 or a type r one.

you should still run pretty quick with the stock gsr pistons because its not that big of a compression loss...and that b16 tranny should help too...i say go for it and then just build from there

I think I would leave the heads alone and just swap out the trannys unless you plan out going turbo the swap out the heads but with that tranny I hope you don't do a lot of highway driving

i don't do a lot of highway driving, my civic is just for the weekends. i have my daily driver that i use for everything else.

i pretty much have no choice on the head. the b16 head is what is on the gsr motor and thats what it will come with if i get this swap.

i'm just hoping i'm going to be pretty quick with the b16 head on it.

isn't the b16 tranny better than the gsr tranny?
