Default New exhaust: Short shifter hitting exhaust now....

I just got 2.25" from the cat-back and a magnaflow stainless muffler installed. Now the short shifter is hitting the larger diameter pipe when i shift. It is most noticable with side to side movement not in gear. You can hear it banging, but I think it still touches cuz it doesn't shift as smoothly as it should. Couldn't they have just bent it a little out of the way to get a little more room?

Heh, the same thing happened to me when I bought a short shifter - I already had 2.25" piping underneath.

I ended up using a hammer, and banging on that old POS pipe to give the shifter some more room. I didn't (and still don't) care much for my current exhaust system, the guy who had the car before me installed it. I'm debating wethere or not to just go with another custom exhaust, or go with a nice cat-back system.

You will have to find a way to lower the piping,.

Mine is just an eBay one I picked up for $9...its a nice throw tho. I guess I'll see if I can bend it away some how.

try bending the hangers on your exhaust (in that area) to make it sit a bit lower.
