k guys.... i have this scanner hook that holds it on the roof with 4 regular screws... they arent too strong they can peel the roof if i hit it hard.....
have anyone remove the top and found out if i can use metal screws?? what ways of holdig the scanner would u use? i need some inputs on how to hold this scanner more tightly to the roof.. it weights about 1lb or less.....thanxs a lot for any input

 

Does it even have to go on the roof?? Cause i think there would be better places that would be less noticible. Don;t want to mess the roof up do you? Or better yet have it smack off your head when your driving

 

u wil have to take the liner off to locate any of hte reinforcememnt bars that go across the roofline. if u dont screw into one of those, youre going to have screws comming out the top of the roof

Try the industrial style Velcro®.

 

i thought about doing it..but the idea of putting a hole thru. the roof scares me. So instead..i crazy glued the bitch up (works fine)

Well first I would see about Velcro otherwise take off the headliner and look for the support beams as people have already said.....On a kind of unrelated note where do you get all of your scanner codes from?? A buddy of mine thats on the Fire Dept. told me about some website that he got a bunch of cordless phone frequencies from and among those got all the fire and police frequencies as well.
