Radiator Liquid ?'s
What are you all running as coolant? I hear some people running distilled water with Water Wetter. This doesn't sound as good as actual antifreeze.
Why wouldn't you run 100% antifreeze? Or maybe like 90/10 with some Water Wetter?

I do not think that coolant is able to transfer heat as well as water. IMHO the best combo for the street would be 50/50 antifreeze/water and water wetter. Although I've never seen a stock integra run hot... they seem to have pleanty of radiator to handle the motor. My RX-7 on the other hand....

Water Wetter should only be used for racing where the track does not allow antifreeze due to possible spilling hazards. It can damage the radiator if run for long periods of time. I remember a post on this but I can't seem to find it right now (damn this search and not being able to search thread content
).

Patrick, I think you are probably thinking of what would happen if you ONLY ran Water Wetter. I don't think Water Wetter has the corrosion inhibitors like antifreeze does. Red Line recommends running it with Antifreeze, and MANY RX-7 owners run 50/50 + Water Wetter without problems.

You mean 25% Water, 25% Coolant, and 50% Water Wetter?
Or 50% of either water or coolant, then 50% of Water Wetter?

I meant 50% Antifreeze and 50% Water Mixed, then add Water Wetter to that mixture. Personally I do not think that most Integras would have any benefit from Water Wetter though...
just use coolant and distilled water. Flush ur engine, and u should be all set.
If you REALLY want colder, get a mugen fan switch, and mugen thermo, THey work.
People on the boards say they work soo well, the engine in the winter, never gets warm enough to use vtec, lol.

Water transfers heat the BEST, and coolant is added to fight corrosion/rust and to help the water to keep FROM freezing into ICE... thats why its called antifreeze. Its also added to give it that great sweet smell so that dogs will lick up anti spills you might have while driving or working on your car. Typically is safe to run 50% water + 50% antifreeze mixture. Of course you can play with these ratio to what you like best.
Honda Coolant Only. Others will recommend different. But honda suggests it, It doesnt cost a million bucks, and you know its safe to use. So why not?
Helms says Distilled. Tap water, and bottled water can still contain minerals and crap.

Prestone is fine. Honda recommends their coolant because other brands (Peak, Xerex, etc.) contain silcates and other junk that can damage Honda radiators. Well Prestone does not contain that stuff either, so it's all good.
