i got my new intercooler today (dont you love the UPS guy?) and SOOOO wanted to put it on my car (was running non-IC'ed ) so made a couple of phone calls, grabbed all my U-bends i bought from JC Whitney and started the install. i have a 88 HF sooo i have basicly no bumper support but there was still lots of hacking to get the intercooler in there (mostly the plastic ****) i also had to remove the washer resivor. i have a buddy that welded all the pipes up for a killer price and the welds look sexy (he has been welding for like 2 months)... think thats about it, here are some pics:

Volvo 42/48 T3 turbo, HF manifold, blah, blah
i forgot the specs on the intercooler, but its like a 30x6 core, 2.5 pipes....

yes i got it on the GB on homemadeturbo.com, i was the first person to sign up yes its the same ones that he sells on ebay.

how much boost? well ~7psi in first, ~9psi in second, and ~11psi in third...

also i have a 1st gen DSM BOV, Zdyne SECU Gold, 450cc injectors, 2 Bar MAP, D16A6 motor, DX tranny.

no timed runs yet. pulls ****** hard!!! we are going to the track on wed the 14th (if you are in the seattle area you better be at Pacific Raceways)

hulkhb, this is not the first time this car has been boosted...

 

did you have any boost drop after the install.im using the same turbo on my b16a3,i have a similar intercooler made by the same guy who made yours.after the intercooler install i have serious boost drop,from 10 down to 7psi around 6 k rpm.

 

did you notice my verying pressures i listed? im not running a wastegate it wouldnt clear the block. im using a spring setup was hitting about 7psi before, after i was hitting ~5psi [I THINK] but also note that i was not running an intercooler, so the charge pipes were considerably shorter and also ~1.5-1.75 ID pipes. i threw another spring (well not that easy) and it was hitting the above pressures, which is PERFECT.....need to get to the track...

 

how much was all you piping ? i have a CRX to and i will be doing my piping soon so i just wanted to know. are those pips mig or tig welded ? o ya how dose the dms bov sound . sorry for all the Q&A

 

i bought 4 U-bends and a 90deg, if i didnt use it now i would use it for a downpipe later, i ended up using 3.5 U-bends. think it was like 63bucks shipped. those are mig welded (with gas). the BOV sounds ****** great! and for 25bucks + the sound it was a great investment and a super find... dont worry i posted this expecting at least a couple questions

i need some real ****** tires. was only hitting ~7psi at the track (i hit 11psi underload). im kinda pissed, oh well its pretty fast and the turbo **** aint mine... putting a 60/48 and custom manifold on soon...

 

Looks clean man. Chrysler 2.2 eh? Which one does he drive?

 

what car he has? he rolled up in a Shelby or something "1 of 21 made" think he use to have a turbo Caravan too.
other cars they have are a Callaway turbo GTI, 78 Rabbit stops and turns not fast yet (built turbo engine coming soon)...
