i have been using benson for the longest, and ive been doing research on who to go to, to resleeve my block and i hear that RS machine has been doing crooked sleeves, and i just checked out golden eagle an there price is about the same as everybody elses, and when i talked to benson he qouted me around 1500 for sleeves are 1000 and 600 for cleaning, decking, blue printed and blanced, and honing. and all i have to do is buy pistons and rods. ive been a long time user of benson and he is very reliable. i posted this because i just wanted to see what would people say is they ever used bensons before?
i have a Benson's ZC. i hate it. about to pull it and put the stock motor back in probably. i've never had a problem with Golden Eagle. just make sure you spend the extra money to get the block O-Ringed.
I havnt used Benson's,but you gotta remember also,he is one of the first guys to actually sleeve any of the open deck honda blocks. So he has been doing it for a while.Maybe the reason his prices are a bit higher than GE.
I had a GSR block done by Dan and I beat the **** out of it, with no problems. I actually still have it, and will probably freshen it up and run it if my GE block gives me any trouble.
We do many RS blocks and I have never heard or experienced of what you claim you heard about RS. Thats the first time I have heard of that Rumor.

if you are gonna bash them at least use common sense and say what you hate about it

I would recommend you going to KG Engeineering in HUntington beach to get your block built. KG can get your block sleeved by Benson too. I bet it will cost a bit less than $1500 with pistons, hone, and balance & blueprinting.
go to KGracing.net for Kurt Gordon's website.

so you got your block built by mr. benson, did he give you the options of going with the ACL bearings??????? cuz i used them in my old ctr build up and the connecting rod bearing and main bearing clearance were not as tight as honda clearance. and he reason was that it was better for more oil clearance, and he warranty's the block if he uses the ACL bearing but he doesnt warranty the motor if i give him honda bearings so just wondering if you used ACL bearings. TIA
yeah i too would like to hear of somebodys bad rs sleeves, mine look to be fine, only gotten to start my freshly built motor, not got to beat up on it yet

well i dont have a problem with RS, becaues before in got into b series i always use to cruz by the old shop and talk to Richard cuz i was gonna get my zc swap from them long long long long long long long time ago. how i found out they did crooked blocks is one of the builders at DPR told me. and i heard he gave ERICKS some crooked ones also. but im not saying the RS is bad i just like dealing with Bensons. and i also heard one of the guys at RS machine is an old employee of Bensons.
the guy from Rs ....dan claimed he was the one ****** up his biz ...this was a long time ago..
i bought one of his blocks longblock ..for turbo..one of the first ones to get the 84mm sleeves...he did a great job on the motor ...i cant complain about that as far as the long block is concerned i was'nt pleased with some of the loose outer parts of the motors components ...like the lost motion assemblys caps on the end of the head were loose ..and alot of other ****
prices for sleeves are --eeeffffin way to much
his prices are a bit on the high side for what you get
I personally would never go back and spend another dollar

This is the first time I have EVER heard someone say bad stuff about RS Machines. But then again it can be rumors and not facts. I know many people that use RS Sleeves and have no problems with them.

Sounds like a lot of rumors.
It really is not the best idea to spread something that you heard from another shop as fact. Ifd it happened to you, go ahead. But there are way too many unsubstantiated claims on the internet.

ok dont kill the messenger im not talking s__t about RS, RS was one of my choices but im choosing Bensons. my bad on what i said about RS. but believe what you want to believe.
I think that GE, RS, Bensons hell even the Darton kit is fine and they all will hold more power than anyone here will make. I honestly dont like the GE deck plate design, i think its not as strong as the other sleeves and we have made goobs of power with them and i still run them this year with no problems. Either way i think its a win win situation if you go with the shops mentioned.
