Theory Question: Recirculation of Blow off valve pressure...Experts please reply
A friend who owns a sr20det swapped 240sx has built a custom recirculation of his blow off boost to go from from the blow off valve to his air intake of his compressor. Basically he has a tube that runs from the opening of the blitz BOV and runs to the air intake piping of the compressor side of the turbo. Anyone ever heard of this? He claims more power between shifts and better gas mileage. Not sure how this works, but seems interesting to me. Blown off boost goes straight back to the turbo intake to be compressed further, rather than wasted in the ambient air. Someone please clarify the theory on this.
possible to aid in compressor surge prevention because of the sucked out blow off air???

No,
if you look at factory DSM, some are made that way, most factory turbo car will vent to intake. it's theoricaly more efficient, less noisy too. It's a choice to make if you want the sound of the bov, you wont get it loud that way, venting to atm is also faster cause the expension of the compressed air dosn,t build any pression, in the intake venting cause a pression but no big deal here.
hope this help a bit

I say
- as long as the air doesn't get stopped up, a BOV is a BOV. You'll notice the DSM one is actually angled to shoot straight at the compressor wheel, even on the aftermarket greddy intake.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of recirculating the air back into the intake for cars with MAF sensors? The computer has taken that air into account and then it gets expelled, so no more air but all that fuel is still going in for it?
If your car doens't have a MAF sensor, then recirculating it won't do much of anything.

I think you're correct

Wrong forum because this is classifieds, that means for sale... not top secret. And there is an excellent article in Sport Compact Car this month that discusses that very issue. You should pick it up.
