Adjusting valves on LS motor
I need to adjust my valves. I have the correct measurments for the feeler guage in my helms, but I dont understand where to put the feeler guage. If anyone has pictures, or can explain this, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
between the cam lobe and the rocker. there is really only 1 place to stick the feeler gauge. Poke around and you will find it

You can, but then the clearance would be wrong. The published spec is only good for the particular location where they tell you to measure it. From what I've heard, that's at the cam lobe for DOHC engines, at the valve stem for SOHC. Probably in either case it's the easier place to put the feeler gauge.
It would be easy to calculate what the clearance should be if you measured it there; but I don't know the distance from the pivot to the cam lobe, & from the pivot to the valve stem...

i was basing it off the sohc engines, didn't know there was a difference between that and the b-series.. guess you learn something new everyday
