B16A, but I want Torque in the future...
Would it be significantly easier to put a B18C bottom end on my car compared to going through the hassle of LSVTEC? I'd still be using the stock JDM B16 head. I regret not going with the GSR everyday I drive my car.
If this is possible, and easier, whats required to do so?

It looks like Importbuilders has fully built and balanced B18B bottom ends with LS/VTEC oil line kits shipped for $2,500. I would think that setup could handle the revs easily while having the added benefit of being forged and higher compression. Just something to think about.
Ok, so go with the B18C bottom end. What can I keep with my current motor. Is it as simple as just switching out the bottom ends?

Yes, the GSR bottom end is easier to install, but which will make more torque/hp?

Does it matter if the bottom end came from an OBD1 or II motor? Again, what can I keep from the B16 and what all parts will I need from a GSR?
Thanks

You just need the GSR block. I'd put the B16 pistons in the 1.8 block for a higher compression ratio.

Bolting the b16 head to a gsr block will lower your comp ratio to around 9.8 or so. If you stuff the p30 pistons in the gsr block it'll give you about 11.2 or so comp. Thats pretty much the setup that I plan on building. From what ive read its a great reliable setup with more torque, hp and you can use OEM honda parts.
