I swapped an SI cluster into my DX and it shows my idle at 1500. How do I adjust?
The idle speed is supposed to be around 800 RPM, right? So how do I adjust it to the proper RPM? I also want to know what the yellow plug is for. I'm guessing it's the SRS, but my car doesn't have it....could it be a different plug for the seatbelt light? Cause the seatbelt light on the "new" cluster doesn't work.
Thanks in advance, people of Honda-Tech.

is it idling at 1500 when fully warmed up? or when you just start it up, and engine is cold? there is a screw on the throttle body to adjust the idle. wait till it warms up, if cold and see what the idle is.
It idles at 1500 when it's cold. Is that supposed to be normal?
by the way, thanks for your only reply. It's helping out
actually, what I meant was, is the tachometer accurate?
again, thanks

Don't ever adjust your stock idle. Ever. (unless you need to because you are extremely modified) There's reasonable explanations for everything. Something as simple as a malfunctioning ECT sensor can cause a high idle, and you wouldn't always necessarily know it.
Is this a cluster problem or an engine problem? First you need to verify that.
And yeah.. yellow plug is SRS. (I'm pretty damn sure)

none at all. I'm using one in my 99.

yes idling at 1500 is normal when its cold. although the idle on mine was high when the engine was warm also. there is a little screw on the right/left side of the throttle body to adjust that.

that is normal,..dont worry about it

like someone said already.. don't adjust your idle screw. Leave it alone. If the engine sounds to be at the same idle speed as it was before the cluster swap, you need to adjust the needle on the cluster. I had to do this when converting to JDM cluster, so it's very possible you may have to do the same. Good luck.
Wow, this is really helpful!
Thanks a whole lot, people
