Need help with doorpanels and seatbelts...
Okay so here is the deal. A friend of mine bought new door panels for his 91 crx si off ebay.. but they dont have the spots for the motor and the internals of the seatbelt. So I have a two questions.
1) How do we get the seatbelt out of the top loop of the door?
2) Ive heard of using the hatchbacks seatbelts because they are not on the door, any truth to that?

I'm pretty sure that the length of the door is longer on the 90-91's... I know they are on the hatch. So the panel is going to be too short anyway.
In case anyone is wondering.... I asked a guy at the dealer why Honda changed to door mounted seatbelts in 90 and his reply was they did it because the government made all auto manufacturers put "passive" seatbelts on all cars in 90 (you're not suposed to disconect it, you're suposed to crawl out from behind it)... by 92 they figured out that it was a dumb idea and stopped requiring it.

hey, this is the guy with the CRX door panel problem.
ok, i just went out and measured the door panels, they are identical in size, except for the seat belt situation. my question is has anyone done or heard of a seat belt conversion from a 89 CRX to a 91 CRX?
and from what i am understandng, you cannot take the belt from the top loop on the door, correct?

AA sawzall would always work, just kidding, if you really wanted to go trought the trouble the top loop located by the top of the door is bolted in I am pretty sure.
Passive restraint seatbelts on the door were a dumb Idea if the door is hit and ripped off in an accident, you no longer have any protection, I am pretty sure that is why they stopped doing it.
