Default 8" midbass in kickpanel

Has anyone built, seen or heard of anyone who has installed 8" midbass drivers in the kickpanel area of a Civic Coupe ('99 in particular)? Need more midbass...

i've heard them before but not in a civic, it was an accord but it was too loud, i would go with a free air 6 inch sub, would be easy to mount and would sound just right

I am considering trying the RF 6.5 HE sub for midbass I just need to verify it will fit in my door.

If you are going to go with an 8" why not install it in the door and put the 6 1/2" in the kicks? Save space. Move your tweeters along with them and improve your imaging.

True. You should get kicks and put your midbass in the doors.

I currently have a pair of diamond hex 5.25's in the kicks with kicker resolution midbasses in the doors.

Which 8 inch are you considering?

I'm thinking it would be a very tight fit for 8's in the doors (99 Si) since I'd have to some major work to get it to fit behind the stock grille. The MB Quarts that are in the doors barely fit...

I was in fact looking at the 8" Diamond M6 or the entry level subs (forget the model) as the midbass. They can cover my front end from 50 to 80hz on up to 500hz which is good enough coverage to back up the Quarts that don't like to play very low.

I was thinking about a pair of 6.5" midbass and just some Q-logic kicks... though I think I can make some kickpanels for bigger drivers that are also much stronger.

Put midbass in the doors, a 5.25 component set in the kicks and cross at around 200 between them.
