I've some audiobahn component speaker that i want to put in my door. But the mounting depth is 3 inches... is that to deep for a 5th gen accord?

But the mounting depth is 3 inches... is that to deep for a 5th gen accord?</TD></TR></TABLE> Yes it is, without depth reducers, and they may be even with the reducers, I would check, remove the door panel, remove the speaker from its mount, check mounting depth of it, and add about a 1/2" to that, [thats what you can get if you cut the back out of the speaker mount out] then the only room you have left is the space between the face of the speaker mount and the inside of the door panel. You would make a spacer out of MDF to make up the diff. between what you have by cutting out the back of the speaker mount, [about a 1/2" plus what the speaker mount gives you] and what you need, you need 3", if by cutting out the back of the speaker mount gives you 2" then you will need a 1" spacer, and as long as you have 1", plus a little, between the face of the speaker mount and the inside of the door panel, you are good to go. And if there is room to install them, I would replace the plastic speaker mounts with custom MDF ones, it will make a big diff. in sound, a speaker mounted to wood will sound better then the same speaker mounted to plastic 94

 

You weren't kidding, i made custom mdf mounts today, sound nice. I don't think that there is any way the 3 inch will fit... better keep lookin
