Right on. That's exactly what you wanna do, I have done the same thing in my car, just use the obd-2 injector plugs (the obd-1 harness plugs won't fit those injectors) and then you have to modify the distributor plug too, not too big of a deal, but it won't line up correctly, you will find out soon enough!
I did the same swap, '95 ex d16z6 to b18c5, what a difference...

Go ahead and try using the obd1 injector plugs, and the obd1 plug for the distributor on the new motor. I bet you twenty bucks they don't work. Go check a '92-95 ex or si, check out what the injector clips look like. then try to use them on obd2 injectors, it doesn't work my friend. Just take the injector plugs off the obd2 harness, and transfer them to the obd1 harness.

when you say i need to modify the distributor? is there anymore you could tell me about that? only reason is because im in the uk and parts like these are hard to come by!!! so if i can get it right the first time it will be good!

the distributor plug changed in 96. since you will be using your original civic harness
in order to keep things simple, its easier to just get the older distributor

yep, sgT is right again. The best way is to get the obd1 B16 distributor, then you would be ready to go. But to modify the plug, basically, the wire colors are mainly the same, I'll have to go look at mine again, but put the obd2 and obd1 plugs next to each other and you'll find that the obd1 has an extra pin if I remember right. I'll look at everything again tonight and post... Unless someone else remembers how to do this off the top of their head (props to you if you can)
Thanks for all the help! it is really useful info! Do i need to use anything else like drive shafts or gear selector's? and also my civic is jdm! would it be easier for me to use a jdm (b18c5)? so the loom match's up? can anyone recommend a good chip to use in my p28?
