well i just installed a clutch in my 91 rex Si........ i have installed a clutch b4 in a 95 civic but never in a crx, needless to say it took me 8 hours.... the other day i asked if i could use a flywheel from a 95 civic, and you all said yes that there the same, well now when im drivin it makes like a metal rubbing noise, what do i need to do to fix it, could it be the flywheel, or is it just the noise of breakin in the clutch, do i need to adjust the cable or soemthing? as soon as i put the clutch in it doesnt make the sound anymore, what could it be?

oh by the way , when i was doin the lower ball joint i realized that the lock nut doesnt like to go back on after it was beaten to get the joint to break loose.. so what i did is i threaded it onto the bolt that goes to the bottom of the shock and str8ened the threads out before tryin to put it back on the ball joint and havin a chance of ruining it. i jus thought id throw that pointer out for anyone who has had a problem with the lockin nut

 

Sounds to me like the throwout bearing.

Is it brand new?

Is it your old one?

Or *other*?

 

its brand new, is there someway i didnt put it in right?? how was it supposed to go, is the spring have one side that clips into the side of the throwout bearing???

 

If I recall there was no real wrong way you could put on that throwout bearing, it was congruent so it wouldn't matter. Maybe you forgot to grease it up or something?

 

could it be i have the clutch cable too tight???
