try using a deltagate gasket with the tial. talking about the gasket that connects the wastegate to the turbo manifold. it will help stop the boost creep. its a common problem so dont worry.tial waste gates are way better then the deltagates but the gaskets on the deltagate are much better. try what i just told u to do and let me know if have helped u.

i am unsure of how the gasket would cause a 6 psi boost creep but i am willing to ty nearly anything before i change the placement of the wg on the manifold so thanks for the suggestion

gasket would cause boost loss... where do u have your wastegate hooked up? to your manifold or your turbo?

i have tried both currently hooked to the compressor because the boost creep starts from a lower pressure thus giving be a more drivable car for the time being

btw i called drag and they tld me my exhaustis too free flowing for their manilfold
a 2.5 DP no cat and Mugen Catback to free flowing my ***

The exhaust is too free flowing for that manifold? I would by a new manifold before I'd tighten up the exhaust...

i know someone ran this manifold thanks saga so it must be my EGTs i think ill try that before i do anything else and Sagaprelude were you running an EGT guage? If so where did you tap it and what temps were you getting

thanks

it'snot your exhaust that is to free flowing, do you have a dumptube on you WG?? if so, remove it, if that doens't work, try porting out the WG opening on the manifold so it flows better, the WG just isn't letting enough gases out

yes i have a flex dumptube it is 1.5" in diameter and i was going to try and port out the WG hole a bit but havent yet. I know your built and EGTs have a ton of variables but what are your appoximate EGTs at say 75 mph cruise and full boost at say 5000 rpms just for reference

nope, no bc.... i just adjusted the screw on the deltagate to change up my boost. i was able to run 13 psi, due to a thicker head gasket, but i stayed at 10daily. all this talk, i miss bein turbo!!!

wow i cant belive you went so damn long on 10 psi daily i remember wayyy back on PO.com when i first saw your ride

btw i took your setup into serious consideration wen piecing together my turbo and i got the thicker head gasket i hope i can have the same reliablility as you did and i am using hondata so i think it may be possible

ok i have taken everyones advice and the problem is still there, obviously it cant be the manifold because sagaprelude ran this with no problrms and there are others i have talked to w/o any problems

so my final question is what kind of timing were you using saga? i also have a thicker head gasket .057 cometic to be exact i think you were using the rIdeal fmax gasket. Does anyone know if the difference between the two gaskets. Supposedly with the rIdeal HG you can run stock timing, but with mine i should be able to run more advance than a 10:1 h22 correct. So if this is the case i had my AF tuned but timing untouched and the base map was for a 10:1 boosted h22 so i think i need to advance the timing to relieve some of my extremely hot EGT's currently i am getting 850C cruising at 70 mph and i have seen the boost guage start to creep as soon as the EGTs start to climb i have seen EGTs as high as 960C this is tapped at the turbo, during this exact run i had a .3 BAR spring and it crept to .71 BAR !!!! at 7200 rpms well i only did that once and i dont let the egts get that high.

Im sure you guys all understand the theory on why EGTs would keep the turbo spooling even though the WG is open, if not here goes basically higher temps have more energy and it would take less hot gas to spin the turbo then it would cooler gas

im open for any suggestion anyone can think of i think i have tried everything except what drag told me to do restrict my exhaust

edit: my car is also getting very damn hot typically i cannot sit at a red light more than a minute w/o turning on the heat. I do can 2 high output slim fans with the stock radiator is any other boosted preludes having an overheating problem?
