Default HELP!!!! Cannot budge crank pulley bolt!!!

I have tried an air gun
Breaker bar
Broke an extension also
DAMN!!!!!

The problem seems to be that I cannot stop the crank pulley from moving slightly and therefore cannot break the bolt. the helm's manual says to put a screwdriver on the flywheel but my tranny is still connected. What the hell can I do??????!! !!!

Impact gun = air gun

Where is the cover for the flywheel so I can jam a screwdriver in there?

Going to home depot to get a fence pole HAHA! for leverage that is.

Get a GOOD impact wrench like an Ingersol Rand 3/8" I haven't found anything mine won't budge or break. I've used cheap impacts before and they just don't add up. Mine even out performs my boss's big bad Snap On unit. It should though, mine did cost more.

i just spent all day trying to break mine loose, the only way i could get was by putting 2 motor mount bolts right next to each other in the pulley hole and then wedging a jack handle between them, then turn the pully till the jack hand hit the control arm. then you can break the bolt loose with a big breaker bar.

Hmm with my weight a 2.25 ft breaker bar will get me 500 ft'lbs of torque. Should be enough!!!

Fricking THING!!!!

i tried with my air gun and it wouldnt come loose...

SO WHAT I DID WAS.............

1. Had my dad sit in the driver seat and mash the break pedal then i took a breaker bar and a hollow pipe to put more leverage on the bolt and she came right off like amayo jar lid......... Dont stick a screw driver in your flywheel.....Try my method and she should come right off......

I tried everything, my impact gun was too weak so i took the whole motor to a shop and they blasted it off in a second. I suggest using a really powerful impact wrench such as IR titanium or something with lots of torque or just take it to a shop like I did. They have bigger air tanks and if that dont work they also have nitrogen tanks for the job.

my 450ft/lbs air gun took it off. like with at the stock compressor setting it would come off, they say to set it at 100psi for my gun. well i just turned it up to 120 on the compressor regulator and bam spun it right off

I did mine with the engine out of the car...I put a piece of wood inbetween the crank counterweight and a good piece of the block, then used a huge *** elephant impact gun.

for future refrence you can remove the starter to have access to the flywheel while the motor is connected,

you can try having someone mash the brakes and put the car in 5th gear, or you can buy the honda crank pulley tool for a measley 50 bucks. that tool is the bomb

Some peeps have ended up taking it to a shop, and having them break it loose (if it's still drivable). Then just torquing it back down enough, to get it home.

They can be torqued anywhere from 80 something to 136+ depending on the year.
