Default welding an oil return bung for a turbo to the oil pan????????

my team and i are building a turbo d16y8. it is fmaxturbochic's, she has an fmax t3t4 hybrid with all the goodies. but today we were trying to weld a bung for the oil return line to the oil pan, but it wasn't working out. we bought the fitting from g&j aircraft in Ontario, they specialize in custom turbo/nos plumbing. and the dude told me to just weld it on. but the we tried to mig weld it but it pretty much just melted the steal fitting and didn't even scratch the oil pan. does anyone have any advise. what kind of welder to use, where to get it welded? also i saw that the drag turbo kits come with a similar bung but it has a bracket and is held on by bolts and a gasket, does anyone know were i she could get one of these fittings? i tried drag but they said i have to buy the whole oil return line kit for like 80$. thanx in advance and when she finishes it all up i will have her post pics.
