how long(mi.) does it take for new valves to seat?

did you get a valve job? id give it a minor break in period of about 200-300 miles before you rev the **** out of it.

I keep getting a little oil on one of my plugs and I am wondering if the seats or guides might be @ fault I have over 1k mi on my new engine

they should seat right away as long as valve job is done correctly. Did you check the guides before assembly, were the seals installed correctly?
