It was a blast! Im pretty much stock except for a comptech icebox and kuhmo 712's in stock size, but i was really impressed with the R around a tight track compared to other cars with modded suspension, race tires and mods. The kuhmo's didnt grip as well as i expected, but i still pulled some decent times for my first outing. I was in D stock and still bettered a few other cars like an IS 300 on race tires, some modded civic si's and the new neon srt-4. Id love some stickier/wider tires like azenis, but either way it was fun.

Those 712's aren't terrible tires but something like Azenis or SO-3's will definitely help you out.

 

I believe that Comptech Icebox would bump you out of D stock

 

How do you like the Kuhmos? I'm thinking about getting a set for street.

Cool bro, sounds like you had fun. I'm in the process of getting my car ready for auto X ( road racing). I have a RSX type S, and I want to see what I can do. I'm currently waiting for my Tein SS to come in. Soon, very soon..

You were in DS with a Comptech Icebox? I'm assuming this wasn't an SCCA event?

Anyway, congrats on your first autocross event. I'm sure you'll be ordering yourself a set of race tires in no time.

 

damn... one of these days.. i seriously wanna go autox... i went to that mazda revitup thing.. which was jus watevers... but now it makes me really wanna test out my ride on an autox event.. to u for having a good time in ur R

Yeah the Comptech would bump you out of D Stock. I believe you are supposed to be in STX if it is an scca event. I'm not positive if there is a class under STX that you could go into. Glad you had a good time. Auto-X is a blast.
