Default AEM CAI Installation...

I just installed a AEM Cold Air Intake today into my 2001 Integra Type R. The thing is... The splash guards on the bottom seem to not fit right because of the filter and so its hanging really low on my car. I was wondering if it would be ok for me to just take the splash guards off or would taking them of be a bad idea. Also I wanted to adjust the intake a little and so I want to take the rubber stopper off, but it refuses to come off... Is there any easy way to take it off? Someone please help me...

The thing is... are the splash guards supposed to fit correctly when I put in a CAI? Cause it just doesn't seem to fit right... and it just hangs really low to the ground...

Another thing... I really need to adjust my intake... I can't get the stupid rubber stopper off though... do you have any advice on that?

I installed my AEM CAI a couple weeks ago and there is no problem with my splash guards. Did you position the AEM CAI correctly? Did you put the rubber thing to support the middle section of the AEM CAI on the engine bay?

There should be no problems with fitment, and I would be sure to leave the splash guards on.

To get out the rubber stop, turn counter clockwise.

My splash guard barely touches the outer rim of the filter. Doesn't bulge the splash guard though. Make sure you put the filter on correctly, or even tilt it up a little to clear the splash guard before you tighten the hose clamp.
