question about channels on an amp
say if i have a mono amp powering my subs...and my deck is powering my mb quartz speakers...yet i want more power to those speakers so would i get another mono amp or one with like 2-3 channels?..im lost on that
All you need is another 2 channel amp. You wouldn't want a mono amp for your front speakers because you want them stereo, if you run them mono you couldn't fade left to right, just make sure it's an amp with good clean power.
not only could you not fade, but neither could the sound engineer who recorded the tracks..
there would be no left and right image / instrument placement.
If your only amping the front, go 2 channel or you could bridge down a 4 (which would increase distortion but power as well) or use the 4 and run all four speakers in the car.
