P28 SOHC chip good for DOHC swap?
Well I just got done with my swap not long ago (B18C5 into 95 coupe) I used stock wiring harness, just modified the wires for injectors and distributor. ANYWAYS, I worked the D16Z6 that I had in the car previously, GUDE cam and other GUDE head work. FOr that setup, I bought a GUDE p28 ecu; supposed to have the cam's fuel curve perfect. The chip in the ecu redlines at 9200, engages vtec at 5000. My question is, I'm still running the same ECE, and since this chip is for SOHC fuel curves, am getting the full potential of my motor with this ECU?
Try to switch ECU's. See if you can notice any difference from the ECU that is running the car. I am using a chiped P28 over my P61. It seems to perform better witht he P28 on my B17A.
If I was to switch ecus, what is the best program out there? Sometime this summer I will be purchasing a S200 Hondata system, but until then, I just need something that I can make sufficient.
It depends on a lot of things like what tranny you have. I have a YS1. A low Vtec on this tranny is kinda pointless because of the gear ratios. Do some reasearch into your setup. This will help you decide whats best for you.
not sure on the type of the program and maps, but we can speculate they are closer to stock b16a maps at best. If thats the case you will run lean under WOT condtions. what you can do is simply swap out the chip (if the ecu was socketed)
there are many options as far as chips. (cehck my sig

Ok thanks for the help. I guess I'm a little surprised that it would be running lean at all, the air/fuel gauge was showing it was just fine, and I'm running fairly high fuel pressure.. . (48 I believe). Hopefully I can have everything running good electronically by the time that I install the Spec B's!
