trying to use p28 on a jdm d15b?
Yo I'm havin mpg & drivability issues on my d15b. Did a swap on my 93 eg coupe ex. Had d16zc. Used throttle body, and injectors from my zc, and have it hooked up to the stock p28. Needs a p08 wondering if any 1 has had ne luck tuning or reprogramming their p28 to work more efficiently on the jdm engine? Or should I stop bn cheap n buy the p08?

isn't the p28 ecu from a 92-95 civic b16a2 w/vtec? vtec ecu on non-vtec motor = trouble.
could be wrong on the details though.

The P28 is from a 92-95 EX SOHC Vtec and if ur not throwing any codes then what problems r u having? U could reprogram the P28 ecu with a chip and get great mpg out of it for less then a P08 i'm sure.

it should run fine.....if u used the throttle body that came with the motor then maybe the tps was bad...and the p28 is a sohc vtec ecu and ur d15b is also a sohc vtec so it should run fine. unless u got the two stage vtec on that motor

no check engine lights, all brand new electrical. it surges from idle to bout 2000 rpms, then , its weird tho, vtec engages @ 4000 rpms. and i found out d15b's r supposed 2 have 2 stages of vtec, which the p08 offers, how is chipping my p28 gonna fix that? im thinkin id b better just trowin a b16. or just buyin a p08

P08 ECUs are for the OBD1 D15B Vtec, they are not for the three stage Vtec D15B (these use the rare P2J ECU) OBD1 D15B Vtecs run just fine on a stock P28. And really i figure your issue is more IACV related or may even be due to air in the coolant.

Yea I do have the 3stage vtec d15b, got ne good importer campanies that can get ecus? I usually go thru tokyomotorimports. Got ne suggestions? Aair n my cooling system would cause engine overheating. N make its sensor readings 2 b messed up. Honda engines r speed density so they run off the iac, ect, tps, and map sensors. N all those r brand new so its the ecu
