i want an LSD tranny and ive seen a few on ebay goin for $500-600, and my question is, is the LSD inside of that tranny or is it a separate piece? because i want limited slip but i dont want to drop a grand for a new quaife. like this one

just the way they worded the discription makes it sound like it only fits cars with LSD. thanks

 

Definately dont buy that. YOu can see the serial sticker is gone which also shows you which model the tranny is. I'd also watch out for people who are very clean about it being sold AS-IS.

 

Well to answer your question the LSD is in the differential which is the in the casing to the right in this pic of my euro-r tranny

this pic is no good, but if it is LSD you should be able to see straight through the differential to the other side..


And 4bidden is right, I wouldn't buy a tranny without one of these

"M2B4" is the stamp for a JDM LSD tranny. I would pass on the ebay tranny and buy it from someone reputable. Even if it is an lsd the gears could be shot and theres no way to tell by looking at it.

go to your local junkyard, around here, junkyard's get front clips of preludes and other cars from japan.

 

maybe in cali, but the yards out here only have parts for '80s mini vans. unless you want to look for me...

 

actualy a type SH tranny you can see right throug also so that theory will not always work but you can always check the tranny code
