Default Expert transmission help?

Help out guys/gals ^_^

Most people say that manual trans and auto trans is working pretty much the same thing right...1st grear,2nd,3rd,4th...etc...Anyways..

Ex.. most manual car at the line they began to rev their engine right. you know step on the gas before they hit to 1st grear to have the power ready...
- Could I do that with a automatic guys????..You know put on neutral then rev same thing then hit D to start 1st gear then up... NO??

If I do it this way with my auto transmission, nothing will go wrong with my transmission right?or it will be??? Could I do it this way to get the power started or it not right to do it and i will ruin my transmission fast???

Sorry long question...

hope you like the transmission shop because you will be there often... that is so hard on your tranny ... if you want to shift then do a auto to manual swap

Hey you should only post a question in one forum so stop asking the same question in multiple forums.

I did that type of shift for the first time today. Never going to do it again. I was coming home from work, and revved at some ricer in a silver Civic with yellow "Civic" decals on the quarter panel windows. He had a stock muffler, too. Only revved it to 2000 RPM, and not much of a launch. Just a sudden jolt. Better off putting it in Drive 4, or 3, then putting ur left foot on the brake, then rev it to 2800 RPM (which is the max for my car anyway), and let off the brake. Less harmful to your tranny.

Ok well....
1) No they don't work the same....same effect...diff ways of gettin there.
2) Sure you could do that...and blow your tranny...
3) You could try brake torquing and keeping it in first and then shift up from 1-2-3-4 if u know when to shift. Might help if you had a shift light or can hear/feel when u need to shift. (keep left foot on brake, rev w/ right foot) to about 2500 rpm....any more and ur car will start moving no matter how hard u press on the brake.

you will have to get a tranny torque converter with a high stall speed if you want to play that game.

Perhaps a level 10 transmission for about $4 grand? plus core.......

no you wont. torque converter will stall it out at around 27XX rpm.
even if you rev it up to stall and then launch it'll have lag.
just play with launching it (hold the brake and gas at the same time) and find a good spot to drop the brake, that WONT hurt anything.

now neutral-bombing it, your gonna have problems.

BAhahahahahhaahahaha! Damn Toyota's, I tell you.
But seriously, though, that's gotta be the craziest thing I've heard in a good while.
